High-end secondhand menswear, picked for you and fitted to you.

Every piece, professionally cleaned before it hits the rack.

The speakeasy

A menswear speakeasy. Come find it.

Picture a hidden spot in Asheville, made just for menswear. You wander the racks with a hot coffee in hand. You find a good chair and stay a while with good people. If a jacket catches your eye, go try it on.

That's Spiffy. A place to get dressed, and a place to hang out with your friends.

And yes, a proper bar is in the works. We've seen the space. It's going to be something. The waitlist hears first.

How it works

Four steps, and one of them is coffee.

  1. 01
Join the waitlist. It's free. Just sign up at the bottom of this page.
  2. 02
Book your hour. It's $97, one-on-one with a stylist. But don't worry, that $97 includes a lot of good stuff: coffee, your Fit File, photos of your best looks, and a vintage tie, pocket square or bandana to take home. And we'll credit the $97 back to you if you buy a package while you're there.
  3. 03
Build your capsule wardrobe. A capsule wardrobe is a set of clothes where everything works together. Your stylist builds one with you, in your size. Love it all? It's yours as a package. Or just take the pieces you love.
  4. 04
We tailor what needs it. Lots of pieces fit just as they are, so you wear them home. If one needs a tweak, our tailor does it, included.

Your first hour

A stylist, a Fit File and a tie with a past.

  • An hour, one-on-one with a stylist, and real coffee. We're coffee snobs, so there's no gas-station stuff here.
  • Your Fit File: a wallet card with your sizes, the colors that look great on you, and what to skip next time. It's yours to keep either way.
  • Quick snapshots of your favorite looks.
  • A little something with a past: choose one of more than 300 vintage ties, pocket squares and bandanas to take home.
  • Tailoring included on anything you buy that needs it.
  • Buy a package that day and your $97 comes back as credit. You also get three Guest Passes, so three friends get a free hour of their own.

Not completely satisfied at the end of your hour? We'll give you the $97 back. Keep your pick from the drawer. It's on us.

The packages

Everything goes together. Everything fits.

A package is a capsule wardrobe your stylist builds with you, for a lot less than buying it all new. Every piece works with every other piece. So no more staring at a full closet with nothing to wear. You just grab and go, and you look sharp.

Guest Passes

Give a friend the hour. You both get $97.

  • You get three with every package. Buy another package, get three more.
  • Give one to a friend who's new to Spiffy. One pass per friend.
  • His hour is free. And if he buys a package that day, he gets $97 off it.
  • You get $97 too. When he buys, $97 in store credit goes on your account.
  • All three buy? You get a bonus piece on us. A belt, braces, or your pick from the drawer.

Any other guy pays $97 for the hour. Your friend never pays it, and he still gets $97 off a package.

Guest Passes come with a package. Credit is store credit, never cash.

Professionally cleaned.

Every piece is cleaned by pros first, so it's fresh and ready the day you try it on.

The fine print: adjustments are case by case, as far as the seams allow. Small fixes don't cover holes, stains or wear. Trade-backs need to be in good shape and approved by our stylist: not shrunk, no holes, no moths.

Clients for life

Once you're in, you're in.

?!

The Hunt. Still think about the jacket your dad used to wear? Tell us about it. Name up to three pieces at a time, and our buying system hunts for them every day. When one turns up, we text you. It has to pass our rules, it comes at our prices, and the tailoring is included. Wear braces? We'll sew in the buttons. You never have to buy it. Any client can start a hunt.

SOS

The Panic Button. Big event and nothing to wear? We hold one rescue spot every day and keep a rack that's ready to wear. We'll get you into the closest fit off that rack today, and rush any tailoring. Anyone can push the button. It's $97 for clients, or $197 for first-timers, and that includes everything in a first hour.

Sun

Sunday Morning Hems. Once a month, the doors open early on a Sunday for 15 to 20 guys. Book ahead and bring one piece for a free hem. Tailored pieces may take a week or two to come back. Stay for coffee and pastries, talk about the finer points of menswear, and make a few friends. (Hems, not hymns. No singing required.)

1st

First Look. As a package client, you hear first when new pieces in your size come in each season.

The Line. Wedding, date or big meeting? Text us where you're going. We'll text back what to wear from the clothes you own.

1 yr

The annual fitting. A year after your first visit, package clients get a free 30-minute check-in fitting. We measure you again, update your Fit File and pin anything that needs it.

+1

Bring your person. Your partner or a friend can sit in on any visit. Coffee for them too.

What makes the cut?

We're picky. Really picky.

Every day, our buying system scans more than 160,000 secondhand listings. Of the roughly 130,000 different pieces it has found so far, we've bought just under 300. That's about 1 in 450 that make the cut. Here's what it takes:

  1. 01

The cloth. At least 90% natural fiber.

  2. 02

The nine tells. Nine signs of a rushed jacket. One and it's out.

  3. 03

The shoulders. Clean shoulders and high armholes.

  4. 04

The sizing. Real chest sizes, like 40R.

  5. 05

The seams. Extra cloth inside when possible, to let it out later.

  6. 06

The condition. No moths, no shine, linings intact.

  7. 07

The label. Maker, origin and fiber, all checked.

  8. 08

The fit. Lots fit right off the rack. Our tailor can handle the rest, if needed.

  9. 09

The cleaning. Every last piece, professionally cleaned. No exceptions.

  10. 10

The expert test. Could we defend it to one of the best-dressed men in menswear?

Now and then, something special bends a buying rule. We buy it anyway. (The cleaning rule never bends.)

Why Spiffy

Good clothes should get worn.

Hi, I'm Kenan. I'm a longtime Asheville entrepreneur. I recently read a book about what it really takes to make new clothes. I couldn't stop thinking about it.

The world already has plenty of great clothes. Lots of them just sit in closets or landfills. So I started Spiffy to put them to work, and to make them fit the next guy who wears them.

Opening this December

Give him a better-dressed 2027.

We plan to open for appointments in December 2026, just in time for the holidays. Walk-ins should follow in early 2027.

Shopping for the guy who has everything? Give him the hour, or the whole package. Every gift comes in a big envelope with a real vintage tie inside. So he has something fun to open.

When he comes in for his hour, we'll text you. So you know your gift landed.

Every gift makes him a founding member, while the 100 spots last. His own numbered card, and every founder perk.

  • The hour, $97. A stylist, coffee, his Fit File and his pick from the drawer.
  • A package, from $595. A capsule wardrobe, picked for him and fitted to him. The price includes his hour, since the $97 is credited.

Questions

Yes, it's secondhand. Here's the rest.

The Founding Hundred

The first 100 men book before anyone else.

The waitlist is free. Each of the first 100 men gets a numbered founding member card. And once the bar opens, he'll get invites to private Founders' Nights.

Your hour stays $97, for life. And when you come in, a vintage bandana waits in your welcome envelope. It's just for founders.

Got Spiffy as a gift? You're one of the 100 too, while the spots last.

We're planning to open for appointments in December 2026.

We'll write when it's your turn to book.
