Now hiring · Founding Lead Stylist · Asheville
You've got the eye. You've got the experience. Now you need the right place to use them.
A brand new menswear styling company in Asheville is hiring its very first stylist. This is a one-of-a-kind, never-to-be-repeated position!

Sound familiar?
You've got great ideas. Nobody's letting you use them.
Maybe company rules keep you feeling confined. Maybe your best ideas keep getting shut down. Maybe you've never seen a job in Asheville that uses what you know. We built this one for you.
What Spiffy is
Not a vintage store. Definitely not a thrift store. Not really a clothing store at all.
We find beautifully made menswear that already exists, style it onto a specific person, tailor it to fit, and hand it back ready to wear. Our packages average 40% under what the same pieces cost new.
We don't believe in disposable clothing, nor do we believe in disposable people.
The job
The clothes make the man.
A man books a private appointment and tells you about his life. You pull from a rack you helped build, pin it for our tailor, and send him home with the whole look (not one lonely shirt). Then he comes back to you every season.
Why this job
$75K to $95K.
Your work, your taste, both matter.
Nobody's sending you a planogram. You'll help decide what earns a spot on the rack, set the standard for every client, and build how Spiffy works from day one.
- The salary is the big part, on purpose, so you never have to push a client to make rent. Plus a bonus that grows when booked appointments become full wardrobes.
- Help with health insurance, and big PTO.
- Open seven days, mostly by appointment. Weekends are part of it, and we'll build your schedule around your life.
- Keep your side hustle, as long as it doesn't compete. Moving to Asheville? Let's talk about getting you here.
- As we grow, you'll hire and train stylist #2.

About Spiffy
Hi, I'm Kenan.
I've built my career on hiring the best people and getting out of their way. I've hired hundreds of people, and folks from my first company still talk about it ten years after it sold. References from former employees are yours for the asking. And yes, Spiffy is well funded.
Is this you?
You'll fit right in if...
- You've spent 4+ years in menswear, working directly with clients
- You can spot a canvassed jacket from across the room
- You've built something from nothing: a resale shop, a styling side hustle, a pop-up, a following
- You can ask for the sale without anyone feeling the "ick"
Bonus points for secondhand or vintage selling, or made-to-measure. No degree required.

Let's feel more spiffy together.
Email me your resume and a short note: who you are, why this job, something you've built from nothing, and the piece of clothing you'd save from a fire. Bonus points if you pick a great secondhand menswear piece from any resale site and tell us why. Everyone who applies gets a reply.
